  • Laksa King, Flemington, review & details - Miettas Australian Restaurants
The Age Cheap Eats 2006: Chinese and Malaysian restaurants are opening on Racecourse Road faster than you can say 'fried rice', but Laksa King sets the pace and still finishes first. The Age Cheap Eats 2005: "THERE'S nothing regal about a grubby little arcade in Flemington, but it's here that the monarch resides. Pay heed not to the fluoro-flooded decor and faux wood tables because the crown jewel is the laksa" The Age Cheap Eats 2004: "ONE of Melbourne's busiest Malaysian restaurants continues to impress with its flare for hawker food and puny prices."

Note: Laksa King is hidden inside the Asian mini-mall at 320 Racecourse Road. Eactly like being back in Bangkok or Hong Kong, the cement and fluorescent mall was once home to an excellent Asian grocery and now has a hole-in-the-wall bread shop, probably the cheapest Vietnamese-Chinese takeaway in the west ...more, and, the cheap to mid market Laksa King. Great won ton filled laksa and a few other Malaysian dishes.
