- [EN] Digital Body Language - an interesting concept | The Social Organization
Digital Body Language is not a new term but it is new to me. I recently heard Valeria Maltoni use it and after digging a bit more, found that it was originally a term created by Steve Woods, founder of Eloqua that referred to the anticipation of customer needs in the demand generation and lead development context which is not exactly what came to mind for me when I heard it

Laurence Hart | Content isn't Social, You Are | 07.07.2011 | AIIM ECM blog | The term social content has been getting some airplay of late. In my opinion it is a marketing term describing something that has been around for a while. Let’s dissect the term for a minute.

10 European content strategists to watch | March 20th, 2011 | Janus Boye | content strategy, online communication | The task of identifying 10 European individuals that make a difference when it comes to content strategy has not been easy. The emerging field is dominated by US-based consultants and at least in Europe, many don’t use the term to describe what they do.

Nicholas Carr | 20.05.2011 | Zero tolerance for print | Politicians are usually sticks in the mud, technologywise, but that certainly wasn't the case down in Tallahassee this week. Florida legislators closed their eyes, clicked their heels, and took a giant leap forward into the Information Age, passing a budget measure that bans printed textbooks from schools starting in the 2015-16 school year. That's right: four years from now it will be against the law to give a kid a printed book in a Florida school. One lawmaker said the bill was intended to "meet the students where they are in their learning styles," which means nothing but sounds warm and fuzzy.

ReadWriteWeb | The Business Impact of Social Media | 7.7.2011 | Social Cast Infographic | Socialcast (which was recently acquired by ReadWriteWeb sponsor VMware) ran an interesting infographic these week visualizing, among other things, a social media study conducted by the Center for Marketing at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth on the use of social media in Fortune 500 companies (we covered part of this study back in 2008). The majority of companies studied found social media - such as blogging, social networking and online video - to be successful. Even as far back 2007 (why does that seem like so long ago?), a majority of the companies surveyed found social media to be at least somewhat important.

- [EN] Social Enterprise Magic Quadrant | Business or Pleasure? - why not both
Social is a people business, enterprise is a cost business. People can be roughly divided into customers and employees, although every single one of us is a customer. There will be entire industries that aren't helped going social, like the automobile industry and other heavily automated and industralised ones - robots don't care about Social.

- [EN] The Inevitable Future of Content Management | Oscar Berg
We have "known" for decades that tv screens would eventually become flat enough to be wall-mounted just like a painting. I remember reading about flat-screen tvs in a magazine about future technologies when I was about 12 in the beginning of the 80s. The idea has probably been around ever since the television was first invented. It has always been a matter of time until we would have flat-screens tvs. For me it's kind of the same thing with content management (although not as many people are as interested in the future of content management as they are in the future of tv technology). In the future, content management will become like air, invisible to users. The content will be automatically managed. We won't have to spend any thoughts on how to manage ...

- [EN] The True Nature of a Social Intranet | Oscar Berg | CMSWire
[EN] The True Nature of a Social Intranet | Oscar Berg | CMSWire | 19.05.2011 | On the surface, a social intranet might seem to be just an intranet dressed up in rounded corners and pastel colors and with features such as blogs, wikis, activity feeds, ratings, profiles and tagging. Yet, the difference between a social intranet and a traditional intranet is far more profound than that. To really understand the true nature of a social intranet, one need to look beyond the features and user interface design and understand what role it has to play for both individuals and the enterprise in today’s increasingly knowledge-intense and collaborative work environments.
