On January 28, 2007, at approximately 3:00 a.m., two large groups of people began fighting in the parking lot outside of J’s Sports Café located in the 12600 block of Laurel-Bowie Road . Off-duty Prince George ’s County police officers, who were working secondary employment in the area, observed the fight. As they approached the crowd, the officers heard a gunshot. The crowd immediately dispersed and fled. The officers observed the victim lying on the ground and rendered aid.
