  Last year, 2006, I went to Cambodia looking for the handwoven silk and cotton they are famous for, and I was not to be disappointed. Cambodian fabrics have their own special character, and are famous the world over. I spent most of my time in Phnom Penh, but I also made a trip up to Siem Reap, and the amazing Angkor Wat. After a few days sightseeing and shopping in Phnom Penh (there are some great places to buy handwoven fabrics) I caught the bus up to Siem Reap. It was about a 5 hour trip, all on bitumen road. This annual event, which raises money for the National Elephant Institute, has been held in the coastal holiday town of Hua Hin for the previous five years. The organisers decided to bring it to the north, to focus some attention on the Golden Triangle area, as a tourist destination. The tournament has developed into quite an event, and in 2005 attracted 55 players, from 15 countries.
