The Student Employment Service is a resource for students seeking part time or casual employment. It is located in the Union Services Centre in the Upper Agora. The Student Employment Services is operated by union staff and student volunteers and is open between 9:00am - 5:00pm Monday to Friday. Students are encouraged to register with the service as many vacant positions are filled directly from the services employment database. Overview of summer vacation program The Australia Telescope National Facility (ATNF) is the premier radio astronomical facility in Australia and operates world-class radio astronomy observatories at Parkes and Narrabri, with headquarters in Sydney. Research projects offered in the summer vacation program are usually in the areas of astronomy, computing, signal processing, engineering and outreach/education. Placements may be either in Sydney, or at one of the observatories at Parkes or Narrabri. Scholarships are available for 10 to 12 working weeks in the period December to February. The program includes a 10-week core period from early December until early February.
Summer vacation scholarships are available with CSIRO Astronomy and Space Science (CASS).

The Australia Telescope National Facility (ATNF) supports Australia's research in radio astronomy. It is administered by the CSIRO, Australia's national scientific research organisation and is funded by the Australian Government. The ATNF operates the Australia Telescope which consists of the Compact Array at Narrabri and the Parkes and Mopra radio telescopes. These telescopes can be used together as a long baseline array for use in Very Long Baseline Interferometry.
