Language Experience Approach, a reading method for all students, but particularly useful for students with very limited language skills provides a meaningful way for students to read text that they themselves have produced orally. Use of visuals is also an obvious place to start, but it is important to use visuals in ways that promote higher level thinking whenever possible. Since use of visual is important with all students, suggestions are included in that section of this site.
