- Twitter has the online world talking
Twitter came together in two weeks of development, said its creator, Jack Dorsey of Obvious. Its premise is simple: In 140 characters or fewer, users tell Twitter what they're doing. They can type on the Web site, send an instant message or use their cell phone to send a text message. The text is posted to a user's Twitter Web page, viewable to the world. It can also be broadcast as a text message and added to the Twitter pages of "Followers" who want to know what their friends and Web acquaintances are doing, adding a MySpace-like element.
