tracking twitter trackbacks Tracking clicks on a link that blows up on Twitter is very tricky. Many of the page views will not show up in your log files as coming from Twitter.com. *Some* will, so it's confusing. Most people don't actually use Twitter.com to view tweets, they use something like Tweetie or Tweetdeck. That's why people use bit.ly for a URL shortener, because they can track the clicks on the bit.ly link. Except, that too doesn't give you a full picture, because people will use multiple different URL shorteners. So here's what you do. Go to Topsy.com and put your link into the search bar.
