- Life Cycles of a Plant from Crickweb
Great interactive flash application for identifying flower parts, seed dispersal modes, and building a life cycle diagram. Great for MS science service-learning project for garden. Excellent resource except lacks key and seed dispersal images aren't the greatest, making this hard for the teacher and possibly frustrating for the students.

- PS41 » The Garden Program
Our students were studying plants and there was no outside area at school for them to actually dig into the ground. What started out initially as a few wooden containers has evolved over the years into a garden oasis that has not only beautified our school, but has also become an important learning environment and wildlife habitat. By giving our students the opportunity to grow produce from seeds while observing and nurturing them , they can understand the importance of “farm to table” and have a greater appreciation of where their food comes from.

- On the Prairie: Prairie ecology and environmental education from Bell LIVE!
DISTANCE LEARNING Bell LIVE! On the Prairie The prairie is one of North America's great ecosystems and a vital habitat for many plants and animals. The prairie once spread across 1.5 million square kilometers of the Great Plains (that's seven times the size of Minnesota!)—but less than 2% of native prairie remains today. In October 1999, Bell LIVE! traveled to the prairie and explored cool animals and plants of this fascinating ecosystem. We discovered why prairies are important to the way we live and what humans do to impact this vanishing ecosystem. Discover the plants and animals that compose the prairie ecosystem with our online activities and resources.

- Slide Show: What Does Carbon Capture and Storage Look Like?: Scientific American Slideshows
CARBON CAPTURE AND STORAGE:
The new boiler at the Schwarze Pumpe power plant in Spremberg, Germany, captures 95 percent of the carbon dioxide (CO2) from its coal burning—a small demonstration of one option for capturing carbon and compressing it for transportation by pipeline or truck to a place where it can be buried or used. This photo was taken in October 2007 and shows the general layout of the carbon capture and storage addition to the 1,600 megawatt power plant.
