  In 2015, Heather began her Doctor of Nursing Practice program at Rutgers University, while continuing to work full-time as a registered nurse. She transferred after three years to the Surgical Intensive Care Unit and, in November of 2016, she joined the nursing leadership team and helped launch the Neuro-Surgical Intensive Care Unit at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, gaining priceless experience in the field of neurology.
