  When you take the PSAT, start attending college visits and fairs, and eventually sign up for the SAT and ACT. All of these things require an email address. All of the overwhelming amounts of junk mail can be a lot to students using their school or personal email, so it’s better to create a new one to use while engaging with colleges throughout high school.
