- Oregon State Daily Barometer Online - Intelligent design is not science (p)(f)
the Wisconsin State Legislature have proposed a bill that looks to ban the teaching of intelligent design as a science in their state. The bill probably won’t pass, as the majority of their peers in the legislature are Republican, but the arguments have been made nonetheless. This is, of course, the first expressly anti-ID bill in the U.S., but many are likely to follow.

Although the two may not be connected, the growth of enrollment at church-based schools while public school enrollment drops should be a red flag that parents are losing – or have lost – trust in the public school system. P.G. Gazette Oct 18, 2005

Here`s a refreshingly intelligent treatise on religion and evolution by Henry Brinton, a Presbyterian pastor, in today`s Outlook section. He believes religion and science ask different questions (why and how, respectively), and he has no troubled [sic] reconciling evolution with his deep faith in the guidance of God. Some scientists say simply that science and religion are two separate realms, nonoverlapping magisteria, as the late evolutionary biologist Stephen Jay Gould put it in his book Rocks of Ages (Ballantine, 1999). In Dr. Gould`s view, science speaks with authority in the realm of what the universe is made of (fact) and why does it work this way (theory) and religion holds sway over questions of ultimate meaning and moral value.
