- The Elizabeth Perkins Prothro Bible Collection at Bridwell Library
Mr. and Mrs. Charles N. Prothro of Wichita Falls presented this outstanding collection to Bridwell Library in 1996. At the time, the collection was one of the finest private collections of Bibles in existence. The predominance of Bibles in the Prothro Collection reflects Mrs. Prothro’s lifelong love of Scripture, while the fineness and rarity of the volumes reveals a connoisseur’s appreciation of rare books. The gift contained what were to become some of Bridwell's greatest treasures, among them a thirteenth-century manuscript Parisian Latin Bible, an early fifteenth-century Wycliffite English manuscript New Testament, a vellum leaf from the Gutenberg Bible (c. 1455), and a Coverdale Bible (1535).

- For Glory and for Beauty
For Glory and for Beauty: Highlights from the Collection May 12—July 24, 2005. Almost 200 hundred years ago, the American Bible Society (ABS) established a biblical library that aimed to document the history of Bible translation and Bible publication. Through gifts and an ambitious acquisitions policy, the Library’s holdings grew throughout the nineteenth century and today it constitutes one of the world’s largest collections of printed Scriptures. The rare book section of this collection, including about two thousand books and a few manuscripts, was recently loaned to the Museum of Biblical Art (MOBIA).

The Saint John's Bible is being created by professional scribes in a scriptorium in Wales, under the direction of Donald Jackson, one of the world's foremost calligraphers. Begun at the start of the new millennium, this unique undertaking combines a centuries-old tradition of craftsmanship with the latest capabilities of computer technology and electronic communication. It is a collaborative effort, involving many persons in both Wales and the United S
