We're pleased to announce the 2011 SeaWorld & Busch Gardens Environmental Excellence Awards. Since 1993, the awards have recognized the outstanding efforts of students and teachers across the country who are working at the grassroots level to protect and preserve the environment. Over the last 17 years, we've awarded $1.7 million to more than 150 schools in 35 U.S. states/territories.

Our students were studying plants and there was no outside area at school for them to actually dig into the ground. What started out initially as a few wooden containers has evolved over the years into a garden oasis that has not only beautified our school, but has also become an important learning environment and wildlife habitat. By giving our students the opportunity to grow produce from seeds while observing and nurturing them , they can understand the importance of “farm to table” and have a greater appreciation of where their food comes from.

This site is a bit confusing. It's a good resource for activists trying to find foundation funding sources. But, it's actually intended for anti-activist org that target these foundations and activist. They say they offer "in-depth profiles of anti-consumer activist groups, along with information about the sources of their exorbitant funding." As an example, they say: "The Organic Consumers Association is another charter member of the organic-food-industry-funded smear campaign against genetically improved foods." It's a confusing site that might accidentally serve as a good resource for you...
