This is a loose diagram of how I work when I'm doing online journalism, tracking news, prioritising, editing, aggregating, contextualising, researching and publishing. It's the basic model of a presentation I'll be giving soon - rest assured, the presentation looks a lot more interesting...

Had it not been published at the end of the workday on a Friday, Journalism.co.uk would have made a bit more of a song-and-dance of this story, but as a result it instead it got reduced to a quick blog post. A brand new politics story for the Guardian on MPs’ expenses.

Webpage add-on button that changes color The Global Consciousness Project collects random numbers from around the world. These numbers are available on the GCP website. This website downloads those numbers once a minute and performs sophisticated analysis on these random numbers to see how coherent they are. That is, how probable it is that the numbers are generated as they are. The theory is that the Global Consciousness of all the people of the world affect these random numbers... Maybe they aren't quite as random as we thought.

As we did in 2007, A List Apart and you teamed up to shed light on precisely who creates websites. Where do we live? What kind of work do we do? What are our job titles? How well or how poorly are we paid? How satisfied are we, and where do we see ourselves going?
