Holographic storage goes beyond current storage limits of medium such as cd's or hard drives by not just recording on the surface but on the complete depth of that medium. Holographic storage doesent just record one bit at a time like other storage technology but can record and read millions of bits of information in parrellel with one flash of light thus increasing the transfer rates of reading and writing. Holograph storage hopes to be the next generation of storage by combining fast transfer of data, releible, derable and low cost media. Holographic storage can put 2gb on a stamp, 20gb on a credit card or 200gb on a cd sized disk.
