I thought it looked kinda interesting... An inner-city junior high school teacher with a drug habit forms an unlikely friendship with one of his students after she discovers his secret. Dan Dunne (Ryan Gosling) is a young inner-city junior high school teacher whose ideals wither and die in the face of reality. Day after day in his shabby Brooklyn classroom, he somehow finds the energy to inspire his 13 and 14-year-olds to examine everything from civil rights to the Civil War with a new enthusiasm.

The teachers of the Melbourne Rudolf Steiner School strive to engender an attitude of wonder for other people, for living creatures and for the structure of the physical world around us. We wish the children to feel that they are free in essence, that they love the world, and that they are eager to assume responsibilities in the community of adults.
