Chris Dewhirst was at the forefront of climbing in Australia during the late 1960's to early 70's. He put up many hundred first ascents some of which are now recognised as classics such as Manic Depressive (15M3, now 25) in the Grampians, Skink (16M1 now 17) and Werewolf (possibly the first grade 20 in Victoria) at Arapiles, the pen-ultimate Victorian aid routes Ozymandias (M4 now 29) & Lord Gumtree (22 M6) at Mt Buffalo and the impressive Conquistador (20) on the East Face of Frenchman's Cap in South West Tasmania. Visiting the US he became the first Australian to conquer the 5.11 grade and is acknowledged as having bestowed chalk upon Australian climbing.

Howdy everybody! This site was inspired by a MacWorld article on turning an old Apple laptop into a digital picture frame. I decided to try my hand at creating my own digital frame and while looking around for information to help me with my project, I soon realized that there are quite a number of people who have been building laptop picture frames. This page is a resource for anyone who would like to create their own.

WorldChanging.com works from a simple premise: that the tools, models and ideas for building a better future lie all around us. That plenty of people are working on tools for change, but the fields in which they work remain unconnected. That the motive, means and opportunity for profound positive change are already present. That another world is not just possible, it's here. We only need to put the pieces together. Informed by that premise, we do our best to bring you links to (and analysis of) those tools, models and ideas in a timely and concise manner.

Here's what's true in Ron Howard's movie A Beautiful Mind—or, at least, here's what corresponds to Sylvia Nasar's biography of the same name: The mathematician John Forbes Nash Jr. attended graduate school at Princeton, where he was arrogant, childish, and brilliant. His doctoral thesis on the so-called "Nash equilibrium" revolutionized economics. Over time, he began to suffer delusions. He was hospitalized for paranoid schizophrenia, administered insulin shock therapy, and released...

we started making music because we were bored with alot of other music. We loved the idea of 'pop' music but not the people who make 'pop' music now. We loved Phil Spector and the Beach Boys, Kraftwerk and Robert Wyatt, timbaland and Madlib, Brian Eno and Devo, Anti-Pop Consortium and Aphex Twin, Will Oldham and Royal Trux. We decided to make our band different from most electronic music by playing everything live- no backing tracks, no computers.
