Dean Potter punches a button on a plastic wristwatch looped around his climbing harness. His partner, Tim O'Neill, leaps at the rock before him, jamming freshly taped fingers into a slender crack. Above them soars the great granite parabola of the most famous big-wall route in Yosemite Valley—or, for that matter, the world: The Nose of El Capitan. At just under 3,000 vertical feet, with 36 pitches, The Nose requires three harrowing pendulum swings and the negotiation of a hair-raising crux section known as the Great Roof—an overhanging shelf 2,000 feet off the deck, with a crack at the back so narrow that neither the towering Potter nor the diminutive O'Neill can wedge his fingers into it.

Tom Phat offers modern (westernised) asian food with panache. Brekky consists of a range of bread or egg based offerings all with innovative departures from the usual. Vietnamese fried eggs offers up 2 eggs on crusty fresh with baguette (the french influence in vietnam) the point of difference from every other cafe being the dash of sesame oil the eggs were cooked with and the splash of chili and fish sauce to finish ($7.50). Likewise the omelette comes with crispy roti, chives and bacon and a laotian salsa (tomato and tasty++) for $9, while the scrambled eggs are set apart by the inclusion of chinese sausage (lap cheung-a sweet pork meat) and tomato ($8).

The Eumundi Market is one of Australia's leading tourist attractions and is held every Saturday and Wednesday of the year come rain, hail or shine. Established in 1979 it is situated in the heart of the historic town of Eumundi and is run by The Eumundi & District Historical Association Inc . This otherwise sleepy hinterland town springs to life in the early hours of the morning, transforming into a vibrant mecca for shoppers looking for something different.

A sobering and interesting look at the single-origin world of chocolate.
Chocoholics are starting to sound like wine judges, and Helen Greenwood wants to taste the excitement. Fanciers of single-origin chocolate take the wine analogy further. Like grapes, they argue, cacao beans reflect the characteristics of the soil in which the cacao trees grow and this lends the final product its individual flavour. It's basically the same as the famous wine concept of terroir.
