Comments about the future of MoReq2010 ... I was devastated though, to be part of the DLM Forum’s spring meeting this year. Not only did I see my concerns about the future of MoReq2 confirmed, but I had to learn that now we have another bunch of people who are working to make MoReq2010 the RM standard that could (or would, or should? Whatever.). Now, this in itself is not news anymore, as others have brokered information like this to the general public much sooner.

MoReq2010: Sunday night the 2nd consultation phase for the new version of MoReq was closed | There last days and especially at christmas there were a lot of last minute comments on the consultation portal for MoReq2010. A lot of them not only included critique or error reports but good new ideas, comments and additional functionality. But some of those interested in Records Management and MoReq especially have the feeling, that the current status of MoReq2010 can not be final but a draft only. And this draft has to be discussed in more detail. The reason is, MoReq2010 is very different from MoReq(1) and MoReq2. It is more modern and in regard to the possebilities of electronic systems than the previous MoReq versions.

Moreq2010 a DOD5015 slayer? #ecm #standards - Real Story Group - Alan Pelz-Sharpe - 23.05.2011 - As subscribers to our research know only too well, standards in the world of document and records management are a bit thin on the ground, and those that do exist are often cumbersome and unwieldy. As a result, few buyers of document and record management systems (ECM) pay much attention to them. This is particularly the case in the world of Records Management, where the US Military DOD5015 standard has long held sway -- at least in theory. Vendors claim DOD5015 compliance, but in reality few organizations actually use the systems in a DOD5015-compliant manner. It's an over-arching standard that demands a particularly complex and cumbersome working methodolo...
