First night was spent in Delhi, did not see much there except for smog a crazy drivers, then the next day we drove down to Agra, home of the beautiful Taj Mahal. I will not go on about the Taj here, as I have already devoted a lens to that which you can find here, "The Taj Mahal". This lens is actually about Bhadohi, a town about 60km north-west of Varanasi, in the same state as Agra, Uttar Pradesh. We went to Bhadohi because it is a major center for carpet manufa... I was not a bit surprised to learn that UNESCO made it a World Heritage Site, on the 17th of December, 1994. It is one those places that you will never forget, an amazing collection of islands and islets, numbering around 2,000, ( 989 have names ) scattered throughout an area of more than 1,500 square km. Legend has it that a family of dragons created this beautiful place by spitting jewels and jade. My destination was Dali, in the mid western region of Yunnan province. I flew to Kunming, the capital city of Yunnan, from Chiang Mai in northern Thailand, with Thai Airways, a 90 minute flight. Kunming is a big, modern city, with a population of over 5 million people. It is famous for it's all year round temperate climate, probably because it sits at an altitude of almost 1900 meters, and is known as the "Spring City".
