A week in India is a blink of an eye, there is so much to see there. We were there to look at carpet and furniture, and lucckily the places we visited were amazing. First night was spent in Delhi, did not see much there except for smog a crazy drivers, then the next day we drove down to Agra, home of the beautiful Taj Mahal. I will not go on about the Taj here, as I have already devoted a lens to that which you can find here, "The Taj Mahal". This lens is actually about Bhadohi, a town about 60km north-west of Varanasi, in the same state as Agra, Uttar Pradesh. We went to Bhadohi because it is a major center for carpet manufa... Finally, I would get to see one of the eight wonders of the world. It is an amazing structure, many say the most beautiful marble creation on Earth. Built by Mughal Emperor, Shah Jahan, in memory of his Queen, Arjumand Bano Begum, who died in 1631 giving birth to her 14th child ! According to one of the marble plaques in the grounds, "it is variously admired as a materialised vision of loveliness, a dream of marble, a noble tribute to the grace of Indian womanhood, and a resplendent immortal teardrop on the cheek of time." I think that says it all....
